PROPOSED GOVERNMENT PRIORITIES


1. Public appreciation of the role, value
and contributions of arts, entertainment,
culture and communications in society.

2. Participation by Arts Community Associations
in public policy consultations, with full representation
of cultural community interests in public policy, cultural
program management, and government priorities.

3. Organization of Culture and Communications
ministries to represent and manage cultural interests
within community, state, province & federal governments.

4. Political support for culture and communications
as a priority, with government approval of cultural budgets
with allocations of more than 1-2% of government spending.

5. Cultural Community and Economic Development Programs including:
a. programs encouraging financial investment in arts and culture,
b. financial incentives like those which have encouraged growth
in other sectors, including capital funds for infrastructure &
no taxes on financial transactions like the stock market,
c. removal of regulations and barriers to growth in the arts
non-profit, community coop, and credit union sectors.

6. Increased support, grants, contributions and sponsorships
with faster information regarding cultural funding decisions.

7. Simpler and faster access to government programs,
public services, public servants & public information.

8. Artsvote & cultural community evaluations
of government programs & public services.

9. Cultural Career Information Services
with a goal of raising per capita incomes for
amateur & professional artists in all disciplines.

10. Status of the Artist Legislation
encompassing principles of the Arts Community.
